    In spite of different bars between Canada and China, there are lots of computers, toys, clothes, shoes, audio-visual equipment, and furniture heading for Canadian households and there are pulp and paper, oil and gas, metals, fish, wheat and fertilizer, all heading for Chinese factories. Canada a source of commodities, and China is a manufacturing mecca. It looks like a perfect fit. But a country dependent on its natural resources for its prosperity has to have the stomach for the boom-and-bust cycles that commodities inevitably go through. Plus, China is pummelling Canada’s manufacturing sector.
