TORONTO, October 23, 2006 – Guardian Group of Funds Ltd. (GGOF) today announced that it will close its popular GGOF Monthly Dividend Fund Ltd. to new investors at the close of business on October 31, 2006. GGOF is capping the Fund because of concerns over the impact of BCE Inc.’s proposal to retire its and Bell Canada’s preferred shares as part of its proposed income trust conversion.

The Central Bank of Canada need to understand the underlying reasons for a currency movement in formulating monetary policy. There should be a clear understanding that these reasons allow to estimate the net effect of the currency movement on aggregate demand and thereafter, to make appropriate monetary policy decisions.

In spite of different bars between Canada and China, there are lots of computers, toys, clothes, shoes, audio-visual equipment, and furniture heading for Canadian households and there are pulp and paper, oil and gas, metals, fish, wheat and fertilizer, all heading for Chinese factories.
